Mr. Rizzo brings nearly four decades of experience handling complex commercial, employment, construction, real estate, insurance, and business disputes to NAM. He has represented businesses, executives, entrepreneurs, professionals, and individuals in state and federal courts, administrative proceedings, arbitrations, and mediations, with particular depth in employment law matters spanning discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, wage and hour compliance, retaliation, employee discipline, executive employment, severance, leave, whistleblower, workplace policy, and labor relations. He also serves as outside general counsel to closely held businesses, entrepreneurs, and emerging companies, advising on contracts, corporate governance, employment practices, human resources concerns, and dispute avoidance.

As a neutral, Mr. Rizzo has served as an arbitrator, mediator, special master, and neutral evaluator in more than 200 matters, ranging from small claims to multimillion-dollar disputes involving complex commercial agreements, employment relationships, construction projects, real estate and title issues, insurance coverage, personal injury, securities, professional fee disputes, and trusts and estates. He brings a unique perspective as both a seasoned advocate and a neutral, combining deep legal expertise with practical insight into how and why conflicts arise.

Mr. Rizzo is also an experienced legal educator, teaching employment and labor law, dispute resolution and conflict management, mediation, negotiation, and the drafting of employment and labor law transactional documents. His combined experience as a litigator, business counselor, neutral, and professor enables him to analyze complex factual and legal issues objectively while remaining attentive to the practical, financial, and interpersonal considerations affecting each dispute.

Mr. Rizzo has led his own private practice since 1996, and currently serves as an Adjunct Professor of Law at New York Law School and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at New York University’s Graduate School of Professional Studies. He is a FINRA Arbitrator and Qualified Chair, an Arbitrator and Distinguished Neutral with the International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution, and a Mediator for the New York State Courts, Appellate Division, among numerous other professional affiliations. He received his J.D. and B.A. from Fordham University.
